5280 Eagles Team
At 5280 Gymnastics, we believe ALL gymnasts can benefit from a competitive and team gymnastics experience. The intense demands of USAG competitive gymnastics, however, do not fit every family’s lifestyle or schedule. We realize that many girls have an activity and school schedule that would rival a full time job, not to mention parents who are equally busy with work and other obligations. EAGLES gymnastics is a good alternative to USAG, making competitive gymnastics accessible to everyone. EAGLES stands for Elementary Artistic Gymnastics League and Education System. The purpose is to provide a low-pressure, positive competitive experience to gymnasts without the commitment to extensive practice hours. Begun in 1993, the League’s founders believed in providing an introduction to gymnastics competition at the lower levels, where gymnasts are encouraged to focus on personal achievement rather than being compared with others. This allows each gymnast to work toward a goal and give competitive gymnastics a “test run” before making the commitment of money and time that high level gymnastics requires.
The 5280 EAGLES program has highly qualified coaches who will motivate and challenge your child during each workout. All of our EAGLES coaches are Safety Certified and USAG Professional Members. We want to give our 5280 EAGLES gymnasts an exceptional training experience.
EAGLES offers an experience different from USAG:
Girls have a chance to participate in the competitive side of the sport at a novice level, much earlier than USAG.
Fewer practice hours allow multi-sport athletes to be competitive in gymnastics as well.
Gymnasts are allowed to compete optional routines at a lower level, so their individual strengths can be showcased.
The EAGLES competitive season runs during the Spring/Summer, rather than the Fall.
For gymnasts who might have competed in USAG competitive gymnasts and are considering or have already chosen to quit that program or find the time commitment beyond their desires, EAGLES allows continuation in the sport with a reduced time commitment.
EAGLES is a good training program for those gymnasts interested in High School gymnastics.
